Job Description
Pendleton Family Medicine, part of Praxis Health, is seeking a friendly and energetic Medical Assistant with a strong attention to detail to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with our healthcare team to support physicians and providers in delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Attends work regularly and on time.
Maintains a reputation for effective interpersonal relations with team, supervisors, and patients.
Rooms patients within 4-6 minutes and ensures their comfort and satisfaction while making sure that provider is timely with starting patient visits.
Effectively communicates with the care team to ensure the flow of the patient care is successful.
Captures and accurately documents full vitals (Blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, O2, pulse)
Reviews medications/allergies – verifies patient is taking all medications listed – state medication name, dosage, and frequency. Thoroughly updates the medication list with any reconciliation needed. Verify all allergies listed are accurate and no new allergies.
Performs Intake Function – press intake button, verify you are in-taking today’s date.
Captures patient’s chief complaint and enters into electronic health records (EHR) system.
Provides applicable informational forms to patients as result of chart preparation routine.
Assists with patient discharge – provides after visit summary.
Completes room turnover process (including, but not limited to cleaning-re-stocking).
Stocks examination rooms/notifies supply personnel when items are low.
Completes “tasks” and phone calls daily with guidance from supervisor or ACA.
Performs EKG, injections, vaccines under supervision.
Completes other tasks as directed by supervisor or ACA.

Pay:$18.00 - $21.91 per hour DOE
Schedule:Tuesday - Friday 7:30am - 6:00pm
Location:2450 SW Perkins Ave.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
A Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution is preferred, but not required. A community college program in medical assisting is also beneficial.
Experience:
Recent experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Proficiency in EKG procedures, taking vital signs, venipuncture, capillary blood draws, and administering injections is preferred.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong ability to learn and a genuine passion for serving others.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment.
Exceptional customer service skills, with excellent organization and attention to detail.
Other Requirements:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
Up-to-date health records, including required immunizations for healthcare work (e.g., Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis).

General Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
W ork Environment: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
OSHA Category:This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
