The Ski Tuner and Bike Mechanic is responsible for assisting activities attendants with ski rental equipment and bike rentals while creating a professional back of house atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure strong ski shop knowledge of waxing, base repair, tune machine set up and maintenance
Maintain rental shop set up and flow of equipment
Ensure weekly, monthly, and annual testing of binding in rental fleet
Drive ski tuning revenue; and ensure rental fleet is in best condition, properly waxed and maintained at all times
Must become familiar with all services and standards within the hotel
Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks
Ability to match customers with the bike, equipment and accessories that best fit their physical needs and ability levels
Repair bikes to the highest of standards, including assessing damage and estimating repairs (from complete overhauls to quick walk-in repairs)
Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on bicycles (e.g., cleaning, changing tires, make adjustments).
Keep a detailed service log and input all maintenance documentation on software for tracking and inventory management
Respond to customer requests for assistance or repairs.
Maintain proper maintenance inventory and supplies.
Ability to diagnose bike issues and recommend additional parts & labor when necessary
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of one years’ experience in a luxury hotel preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience in ski tuning
Excellent telephone etiquette
Exceptional guest recovery skills
Enjoy interacting with people in a fast paced environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must possess a positive attitude
Must be willing to participate in a learning environment
Must integrate company values throughout all interactions
Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing. Some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) will be required.
