HDR NJ Transportation Group is seeking to hire a Senior Bridge Engineer to work on bridge projects.
The primary duties of the Sr. Bridge Engineer will include producing design criteria, engineering reports, design plans, design calculations, and specifications for bridge projects. The Sr. Bridge Engineer will be part of a team completing the necessary analysis, design, and calculations required for the project. It is expected that the candidate be a team player ready to work with the rest of the bridge staff in a collaborative environment and help build the technical performance of the group. This individual is expected to take an active mentoring role and encourage, motivate and help develop less experienced staff engineering skills. The Sr. Bridge Engineer shall be familiar with both local and national bridge codes. The Sr. Bridge Engineer will also participate in business development and contribute to the growth of the bridge group. Business development participation will include collaboration with or actively leading members of proposal pursuit teams, participation in engineering associations and representing the organization at conferences and events.
In the role of Sr. Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to:
* Conduct analyses, develop design solutions, and prepare design drawings, engineering reports, calculations, and specifications for bridge engineering projects.
* Perform engineering designs requiring application of standard and advanced techniques to deliver excellent technical work.
* Perform detailed checks of the design work being performed by other members of the design team.
* Work independently or lead technical engineering projects or be part of a larger design team on technical projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* 10 years of Bridge Engineering experience is required.
* Professional Engineering (PE) License in NJ
* Experience working on NJ bridge projects.
* Experience working in a team environment producing designs on minor and major bridge projects.
* Microsoft Office and AutoCAD/Microstation required
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Experience with structural analysis program such as STAAD Pro/LARSA 4D and/or Leap Bridge Enterprise would be a plus.
* NJDOT and/or NJTA project experience
* Strong preference given to local candidates with local experience.
