THE POSITION

As first point of contact at the Driver Licensing Center, y our friendly demeanor will set the tone for customer interactions as you assist them. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that complex applications for motor vehicle and driver licensing are accurately processed and addressed. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will professionally welcome customers to determine the purpose of their visit. You will conduct an initial assessment of the customer’s application and any necessary supporting documents. When required, you will perform visual Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verifications to assist in processing requests for Pennsylvania Certificates of Title. Additionally, you will independently address inquiries and concerns from the public.

A solid understanding of the services offered at the vehicle counter, along with the associated requirements and security protocols, is advantageous. You will provide information regarding the acquisition of photos, driver licenses, and various motor vehicle and dealer services. Familiarity with the Motor Vehicle Code, as well as the procedures and regulations established by the Department of Transportation concerning registration and licensing, is essential. You will also examine and process both basic and complex motor vehicle and driver license applications utilizing a computer system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly

  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch

  • Mandatory overtime may be required.

  • This position may be required to work during office closures.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title);or

  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
