THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) is eager to welcome a highly motivated and detail-oriented Criminal Justice System Specialist 1 to their team. This position, within the Office of Research and Evaluation and Strategic Policy Development ( ORESPD) Division, assists in the administration of grant programs.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will aid in the administration of grant programs related to violence intervention programs administered by the Office of Research Evaluation and Strategic Policy Development (ORESPD). ORESPD provides research, evaluation, legislative, and policy activities for the PCCD. Some key duties of the position include developing funding announcements and grant application scoring criteria; r eviewing and approving applications; and preparing correspondence and reports. In addition, you may provide assistance to other program staff in administering related programs and initiatives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.50-hour work week)

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office in Harrisburg once a month and as needed. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the commonwealth’s Criminal Justice System Specialist Trainee program; or

  • One year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
