THE POSITION

T he State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township is seeking an energetic individual to be our next Facility Safety Manager. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Facility Safety Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and health standards throughout the facility. Key aspects of your duties will include c onducting and coordinating all employee and inmate training in the essentials of safety, sanitation, fire prevention, and environmental training programs. You will participate in all fire and safety inspections and equipment inspections. Additionally, you will maintain all records, such as inspection results, fire evacuation drills, special instructions, mock disaster critiques, monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, and annual fire extinguisher schedules.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • This position is eligible for full benefits at age 60 or 65.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $56,900.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor’s degree; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirement:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
