THE POSITION
Are you interested in advancing your IT career with an exciting opportunity? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team as a Senior Applications Developer! Become a vital member of the Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center, which provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA). Within this role, you will serve as the team lead in improving upon the quality of services for various agencies throughout the Delivery Center.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Senior Applications Developer will lead and maintain fluent operation of testing processes for both project and maintenance operations work within the Software Testing Unit of the Solutions Management Division. The incumbent will assist in the development and execution of test plans for various testing activities as they pertain to the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and will leverage applicable 508 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards for Accessibility Compliance testing. This individual will also document results, identify defects, and provide test reports and deliverables, as well as retesting support once defects have been resolved. This position will facilitate sessions with business, testing staff and contractors regarding the testing of complex projects.
Responsibilities will include assisting with Resource Management monitoring. This may include but is not limited to allocating, scheduling, and managing individuals according to skill-set necessary for project assignments. As a team lead, the incumbent will mentor junior level applications developers in the design, development, assembly, testing, and deployment of highly complex software use to support agency missions. This position functions with a high degree of independence and will be responsible for the tracking and reporting of testing activities for assigned projects and operational work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours will range from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (candidate may decide schedule) Lunch period will be based on selected work schedule (30 minute/1 hour lunch) Monday - Friday.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You must come into the office one day a month at a minimum. You will be expected to work from home (telework) for the reminder of your work schedule, but this could change, and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Parking is located at the building and is free.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4;or
Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field;or
One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
