Vail Resorts Senior Business Analyst Manager in Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst Manager to join our agile project delivery team. This role will serve as a people leader for business analysts and quality assurance testers. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this role will be accountable for designing and implementing agile processes for their functions, while also developing talent within their team. Successful candidates will be capable of effectively leading a large team operating within a complex eco-system and demanding portfolio.

Drive Value: Set high expectations for individual contributors and develop best practices

  • Manage business analyst and quality assurance team members, setting expectations for high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Design and monitor best practices for business analysts: stakeholder engagement, use case analysis, requirement definition, mockup designs, and scope negotiation.

  • Oversee testing procedures and quality assurance standards: test plan development, execution of test cases, regression analysis, and end-user documentation.

  • Take bold steps to enhance current processes and develop methods to track results over time, soliciting constructive feedback from cross-functional teams.

Serve Others: Develop an agile team that delivers with the rhythm of the business

  • Guide delivery teams through change adoption and explain “the why” for key decisions.

  • Build trust with peers and teams, managing tension between varying viewpoints and stakeholder interests to achieve maximum value for the business.

  • Be out-front to help business analysts plan for discovery and project initiation effectively.

  • Dive deep into project details and provide targeted recommendations to unblock teams.

  • Collaborate with program managers, project managers, and developer managers to establish ways of working in a matrixed organization.

  • Mentor and coach team members to develop skills suited for their role and career goals.

  • Think critically about roadmaps, prioritization, and resource capacity to identify staffing needs. Recruit and onboard new employees and contractors with a strong cultural fit.

  • Ensure solutions adhere to the software delivery lifecycle and satisfy SOX and PCI requirements for the organization

  • Ensure candid communication about potential risks, collaborating with the delivery team to identify options and advising leadership of mitigation tactics.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Senior Business Analyst with increasing responsibility

  • 3+ years of people leadership experience and scaling teams to meet business demands

  • Adept as using MS Office, Visio, PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, and prototyping tools

  • Experience in MS Development Technologies, including VB6, .NET, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, etc.

  • Requirements gathering and documentation skills

  • Process and technical writing skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously

  • Proven organizational and time management skills

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $112,000 - $150,000 + anual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays. Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate. This includes: California, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
