Jacobs Transportation Project Manager in Pensacola, Florida

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our Transportation Group and we are looking to add a Project Management professional in Pensacola, Florida. When you’ll join us you’ll assist in leading multi-disciplined transportation projects that focus on highway, roadway, traffic engineering and studies, stormwater design, and interchange projects and pursuits. You will be responsible for transportation projects throughout the geography and will be responsible for managing project teams to pursue work, perform preliminary and final design engineering and prepare documentation to satisfy the requirements for local and State roadway projects.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to provide transportation engineering expertise, negotiate hours, develop and maintain schedules and budgets, direct and mentor project staff, and ensure quality reviews are completed. You will manage external client relationships as well as lead and participate in business development initiatives. Our office is comprised of a comprehensive group of professionals who are industry leaders with the ability to work on a variety of projects. Project types range from large design/build infrastructure projects to traditional projects within the government and commercial sector.

When you join us, you’ll be responsible for:

• Provides technical leadership and oversee all aspects of roadway design projects including design-build transportation projects and assist with business development opportunities.

• Successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.

• Communication, status reporting, decision making regarding technical approaches, risk management, and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved by the team.

• Lead the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and organization of internal technical and support staff, and subcontractors for the project.

• Focus on client service and satisfaction that leads to repeat business.

• Maintain a close relationship with clients, track upcoming project opportunities, and collaborate on project pursuits.

• Quality of project work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for transportation projects.

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of transportation projects to ensure that goals and objectives of these projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

• Assists in the development and execution of local marketing and business development, researches and tracks future project opportunities, initiates and reviews proposals and participates in interviews and presentations.

• Represents Jacobs at meetings, presentations, and public hearings relative to assigned projects.

• Must thoroughly understand and implement the JACOBS Quality Management Systems requirements, processes, and procedures.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

• Previous professional experience in the highway engineering design, design management and highways project management is required

• Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and possess strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong technical design background in traffic engineering, highway design, and highway drainage, as well as familiarity with FDOT, AASHTO, FHWA and MUTCD standards.

• Established local client relationships along with an understanding of policies and procedures of these agencies

• Actively engaged in professional organizations.

Ideally you’ll also have:

• Masters of Science in Engineering is preferred

• Registration as a P.E. in the State of Florida

• Previous experience working on alternative delivery (Design-Build and PPP) major transportation projects

• Knowledge of and prior experience of using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D)
