Immediate Office of the Chief of Naval Operations AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL SPECIALIST in Pentagon, Virginia
Summary You will serve as a Air Traffic Control Specialist in the Air Warfare Division of IMMEDIATE OFC OF CHIEF OF NVL OPS. Responsibilities You will serve as an advisor regarding the general field of Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations, Airspace Management (AM) , Navy Airspace Command and Control (A2C2) with a worldwide scope and Navy policy on Unmanned Aircraft Systems. You will develop Navy Standards utilizing air traffic analysis data and various operations reports to facilitate handling of heavy increases in traffic, correct deficiencies and to improve controller efficiency. You will evaluate the effect of increased Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) usage of the Navy’s growth plan to identify any airspace shortfalls to recommend mitigation strategies. You will review Navy, commercial and general aviation proposals, determine the effect of such proposals, and coordinate with Navy elements to develop a Navy position. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serve as an advisor regarding the general field of Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations, Airspace Management (AM) , Navy Airspace Command and Control (A2C2) with a worldwide scope and Navy policy on Unmanned Aircraft Systems; 2) Develop Navy Standards utilizing air traffic analysis data and various operations reports to facilitate handling of heavy increases in traffic, correct deficiencies and to improve controller efficiency.; 3) Evaluate the effect of increased Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) usage of the Navy's growth plan to identify any airspace shortfalls to recommend mitigation strategies; AND 4) Review Navy, commercial and general aviation proposals, determine the effect of such proposals, and coordinate with Navy elements to develop a Navy position.
