Summary The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) is responsible for carrying out the functions assigned by Title 10, United States Code, section 135, Public Law 81-126, PL 101-576, Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990 and ensuring that the utmost economy and efficiency is applied to the programs of the Department through sound business management and effective fiscal planning and control. Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: - Serves as a Supervisory Financial Management Analyst for the Financial Management Operations and Analysis Directorate and supports the oversight of all financial management capabilities and products developed in the Advana platform. - Provides direction to a geographically dispersed professional staff with full supervision and management authority for long-range planning, goal-setting, and evaluation of staff; ensures a viable planning structure and system of priorities to meet requirements and objectives. - Directly supports the Director for Financial Management Operations and Analysis in identifying opportunities for enterprise data, analytics support, process automation, both in-house and across the enterprise. - Supports the Comptroller Chief Data Officer in evaluating, implementing, and sustaining business standards for a targeted business data environment. - Liaises with counterparts within the OUSD(C) and with external components and activities (e.g., the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office, the Military Departments, and Defense Agencies) to ensure adequate structure and resources are well understood and in place to support the strategic objectives of the USD(C) and shared objectives of the activities that make up the Advana user base. I have one year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: 1)Directing transformational integration and coordination of business and financial systems and processes; 2)Experience leveraging technology and data to lead the development and implementation of business analytics strategy to digitally enhance mission effectiveness; 3)Ability to accept broad guidance and provide specific recommendations for operation and program compliance, integration, effectiveness and efficiency; 4)Oversee contract performance to ensure work meets standards and authorization of payment; and 5)Plans and schedules assigned work of subordinates.
