Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager in our Peoria, IL office. In this role, you will focus on supporting community projects in water/wastewater/stormwater engineering as well as the planning, design, and management of various civil engineering projects.

Job Activities:

  • Support Municipal related project development

  • Staff development and supervision

  • Design and review IDOT, county & municipal transportation needs.

  • Design and Review of water, wastewater and storm related projects.

  • Manage projects from inception to completion

  • Develop and maintain relationships with state and local authorities.

  • Conceptual design of storm water BMP’s.

  • Oversee and execute permits related to Agencies such as IDNR, IEPA, NPDES, IDNR floodplains, and USACE wetlands.

  • Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and client consultants

  • Attend city staff and council/ board meetings

  • Communicate with clients regarding current projects and develop future projects

  • Organize and complete projects from inception to completion

  • Develop and mentor staff and collaborate with the entire Civil team

  • Prepare project proposals

Specific Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering

  • 15 - 20 years of civil engineering experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

  • Proven leadership skills with engineering staff

  • Ability to effectively manage clients and participate in business development activities

  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills

  • Strong team player that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously

  • Contract and negotiating skills
