Job Summary:

This position is on the Enterprise Connectivity Team within the CAT Digital organization. This team has enterprise accountability for the telematics product line strategy, rationalization, quality, and cost as well as the associated telecommunications. Telecommunications and carrier management includes contracts, rate/cost management, technology expertise, support, and development projects around related technologies and regional deployment. Connected devices and telecom management are critical enablers to our services growth strategy as well as being foundational to the deployment of effective digital solutions for our dealers and customers

What You Will Do:

  • Ensuring current eSIM solutions remain operational and compliant

  • Working with our internal regulatory experts to understand and apply country specific regulations

  • Leading any new eSIM implementations for any new countries requiring a local carrier solution

  • Leading strategy implementation for future eSIM technologies

  • Understanding, refining and documenting project requirements

  • Working with procurement and legal on contractual agreements

  • Guiding projects through the architecture, development and validation process

  • Work with architecture and “sensor to desktop” technical organizations

  • Providing written and verbal project status updates and NPI Gate Reviews

  • Scheduling and leading project team meetings

  • Driving technical and business solutions

What You Will Have:

Products and Services:

  • Knowledge of major products, services and service groups that include eSIM technology and IoT/Telematics related solutions.

  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge base to understand and drive these solutions

  • Obtains information about product and service linkages with other products and services elsewhere in organization.

Program Management:

  • Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects

  • Follows standard criteria to track project progress and status to ensure they are in line with program objectives.

  • Coordinates the necessary resources for managing efficient and effective projects within the program.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic:

  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Effective Communications:

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external groups and across all levels of the business

  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.

Problem Solving:

  • Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.

  • Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.

  • Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree from college or university

  • 8+ years of job-related experience

  • Expertise in Cellular eSIM technology

  • Knowledge of IoT/Telematics or related technology solutions

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products, solutions and processes including NPI (New Product Introduction)

Additional Details:

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.
