Job Summary: The Team Lead I will assist the Production Team to ensure attainment of safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. The Team Lead I is a proven self-starter, multi tasker and mentor with a demonstrated ability to work independently or in an advanced team role. The Team Lead I is required to be signed off on all Level I, II, III and IV Work Instructions for their factory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Managing the day-to-day activities of the team
Motivating the team to achieve organizational goals
Delegating tasks and or assignments to team members
Conducts training of team members to maximize their potential
Empowering team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills
Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team
Maintain orderly flow of parts and provide direct supervision and assistance to cell/line personnel
Provide hands on instruction and assistance to cell/line personnel
Approximately 80% of time is spent performing tasks similar to those of employees under their leadership
Maintain production records
Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement goals
Keep area clean by ensuring housekeeping in, and around building is maintained
Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
High School diploma or GED
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
Good organizational skills
Ability to be attentive to accuracy and detail
Good record keeping skills
Demonstrated dedication to Safety Procedures
Must be able to act responsibly and sensibly during stressful situations
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to follow projects through to completion
Ability to read and follow instructions carefully
Must display basic mathematic proficiency
Ability to work in team environment
Must have the ability to perform a wide variety of duties with minimal supervision
Must be proficient with MS office, including Word and Excel
Must display positive leadership attributes and experience
Strong organizational skills to give the team direction
Must have predictable onsite attendance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
Must have good vision (may be corrected)
Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends
May move materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally
Manual dexterity
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (<85 dBA), however in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary
Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards
