The position requires a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or with development of advanced finite analysis modeling. Will accept a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in lieu of 2 years of stated experience. 5 years of stated experience must include the following: Structural sizing of mechanical components, including static load and fatigue analysis; Meshing and defeaturing, for deflection and stress analysis in FEA software such as ANSYS; Stress-strain models and fatigue theories for nonlinear materials; and Plasticity and Visco elastic material models for FEA simulation. 2 years of stated experience must include the following: FEA of mechanical assembly methods, including press-fit and pre-tensioned fasteners; and Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. 

Job duties for this position include: 

Responsible for the development of mechanical design for new PV modules for minimum material usage for defined load cases, and evaluation of designs against defined requirements. Plan, execute and characterize development engineering experiments in the laboratory and manufacturing environment. Apply statistical and engineering methods to optimize organizational effectiveness. Improve methods for use by others.
