Generac Power Systems Supply Chain Intern in Pewaukee, Wisconsin

The Supply Chain Intern will support the corporate Supply Chain Analytics team in analyzing supply chain systems to drive strategies that deliver the appropriate level of inventory across Generac business segments. The Supply Chain Intern will bring innovative thinking and concepts to identify gaps or risks, along with opportunities for improvement and process success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program (preferably Supply Chain, Operations, Business)
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Office Suite proficient;
Excellent analytical ability;
Ability to travel occasionally to local facilities;
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop supply chain analytics to drive process improvements across the network in Supply Chain Distribution, Logistics and Distribution.
Monitor performance of key Supply process KPI’s to create visibility to process gaps and identify improvement opportunities.
Monitor product inventory and expected availability on a consistent basis across multiple distribution and manufacturing points to quickly identify potential process fallout or incremental opportunities for revenue generation.
Manage Supply Chain inventory targets, performance against targets, and contribute to action plans to ensure process success.
Research and analyze other comparable organizations and operations.
Analyze data regarding sales / operational performance, activity and trends.
Identify sales / operational trends and recommend improvements.
Prepare operational studies and reports.
Work closely with management and other analysts on important business issues and projects.
Measure, track and report results of initiatives that are underway.
Manage multiple projects and/or assignments concurrently.
Determine the best allocation strategy to distribute inventory to each customer segment to maximize sales and margins.
Analyze inventory at the customer/product level, identify over and under performers and provide suggestions to improve.
Identify inventory issues and analyze root causes to provide solutions
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficient in MS office with advanced knowledge in Excel, ie (complex formulas, vlookups, and pivot tables).
Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication.
Experience working with a business group understanding data and providing insight to trends.
Ability to understand business objectives and develop KPIs for measurement of success.
Excellent listening & influencing skills.
Technical excellence with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Demonstrated experience of development capabilities with SAP BI, Tableau or Power BI.
Working knowledge/awareness of integrated CRM tools.
Experience in handling large data sets and database creation/management.
Exceptional ability to analyze and interpret data.
Critical thinking and problem resolution skills.
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
