Reporting to the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations in the School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM), the Assistant Director-Healthcare Administrative Services supervises the daily health records, patient reception, and clerical support services of the Foot and Ankle Institute (FAI), including its Leonard Abrams Center for Advanced Wound Healing, Temple Total Therapy (T3), and satellite locations, in service of TUSPM's primary mission to educate and train students and in compliance with policies and procedures established by federal and state government regulatory agencies, third party payers, Temple University (TU), Temple University Health System's (TUHS) Office of Compliance and TUSPM. Ensures that all face-to-face and telephone interactions relative to patient care support in the FAI and satellite locations are addressed in a timely, courteous manner and that patient wait times and data errors are minimized, ensure that all cash received from health services activity is deposited via lockbox or at the TUSPM Office of Cash Operations within one (1) business day of receipt, reconciles health services cash receipts by batch identifiable to the receiving support staff member within one (1) business day of entry, ensures that physical and electronic health records are maintained and secured in compliance with policies established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Pennsylvania Department of Health, cognizant third party payers, Temple University Health System's Office of Compliance and TUSPM, administers access to TUSPM's electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems as directed by the Director of Healthcare Operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least four years of directly related experience. Experience in healthcare administration or a related field and at least one year of high volume healthcare practice administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, accounting or finance and advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations preferred. Required Skills & Abilities: *Must be organized, self-directed, detail oriented, able to work independently, communicate clearly and effectively, and complete tasks in a timely manner. *Must have a customer service orientation, project management skills and the ability to interact with professionalism and tact under stress. *Must be proficient with applications such as Microsoft Office, electronic health record/patient management systems and be able to adapt to new technology.
