Job Summary The Associate Strategic Sourcing Specialist is a member of the Procurement Services team and is responsible for executing the University's sourcing strategy in the acquisition of goods and services. The position reports to the Executive Director of Strategic Sourcing & Surplus. In accordance with Federal, State and University policies and procedures, the Associate Strategic Sourcing Specialist supports Procurement Services' Strategic Sourcing team with procurement of a wide variety of commodities and services, requisition review and processing, Drexel end user support, preparation and execution of informal and formal bid solicitations, and supplier relationship management. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and an approach that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to fiscal responsibility, diversity, transparency, flexibility, integrity, and customer service. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional procurement services team. Essential Functions Review and process requests to purchase goods and services culminating in issuance of purchase orders, conduct routine purchasing processes using established departmental procedures and assure adherence to Drexel policies and procedures. Ensure issues are quickly resolved, and opportunities are identified and acted upon. Triage and assign incoming requests to purchase to the Strategic Sourcing Specialists, facilitating timely review of requests and ensuring an even workload distribution.  Assist with triage and resolution of requests submitted to the Strategic Sourcing team email account, including contractual inquiries. Support the Strategic Sourcing team with development and/or review of purchase specifications, and preparation and execution of informal and formal bid solicitations. Finalize agreements in collaboration with Drexel end users and appropriate university departments, including but not limited to the Office of the General Counsel and Risk Management. Maintain good supplier relations, identifying and resolving opportunities for cost savings and improved service levels. Work collaboratively with suppliers and internal customers to secure business critical goods and services at the best value to Drexel. Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by the AVP, Procurement Services & Accounts Payable and the Executive Director of Strategic Sourcing & Surplus. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED 1 year of directly related experience or comparable work experience. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Must possess strong customer service and professional communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and operate well under deadlines. Understanding of purchasing and payables processes, policies and systems. Preferred Qualifications 1-3 years of procurement and/or payables preferred Knowledge of financial and e-procurement systems preferred Higher education preferred Physical Requirements Typically sitting at a desk/table Lifting demands  25lbs Location Hybrid/Flexible Work Arrangement - Philadelphia, PA Additional Information This position is classified as exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630.00 to $81,940.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
