Job Title: Civil Design Engineer

Location: Boston, MA/Manchester, NH

Job Description:

  • Develop detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.

  • Determine material estimates based on designs.

  • Assist with technical oversight, task planning, and task management for staff level team members on diverse design teams

  • Provide meaningful technical guidance and mentoring to staff level team members.

  • Interface with contractors and internal staff on the Engineer-of-Record’s behalf during the construction phase of design projects.

  • Develop technical approaches and complex contaminated sites and identify opportunities to optimize/innovate existing and new procedures and systems.

  • Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.

  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.

  • Comply with Company and client Health & Safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • B.S degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. M.S. degree welcomed.

  • Minimum 4-8 years of environmental engineering and/or consulting experience with specific experience in the preparation of detailed engineering design packages and supporting engineering analysis/consulting for some of the following project types: site civil development, excavation-based remediation projects, landfill and leachate systems design and closure, stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems, and/or environmental permitting.

  • Professional engineering registration in core discipline, or ability to obtain within one year.

  • Experience with the full range of an environmental project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, budgetary cost development, detailed design, and contractor selection.

  • A past background with the in-field construction of civil/environmental engineering/site development/waste management projects is a plus.

  • Experience with planning and managing project tasks and working effectively with multi-discipline technical teams.

  • Ability to succeed in a team-oriented environment, interfacing with a variety of different groups, to accomplish project objectives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with clients, senior project engineers and staff.

  • Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard Microsoft software. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is expected. Experience with HydroCAD or similar hydrologic modeling software is a plus.

  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required.
