Summary:
The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical practices in collaboration with Practice Leadership. The Clinical Coordinator ensures compliance with TJC, CMS, and DOH requirements across all practice locations. The Clinical Coordinator oversees infection control standards in the practice that are upheld. Participates in EOC rounding in the practice. The Clinical Coordinator will communicate new processes, assist with coverage plans for unexpected needs, and act as the subject matter expert for clinical questions and EHR optimization. The Clinical Coordinator will assist with hiring onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff, and complete clinical competencies and evaluations.
Typical scope for this role is: •<10 = # of staff directly and indirectly managed •<15,000 = # of budgeted annual visits •Complexity Factors (may involve a few of the following factors of practice complexity): multiple practice locations, high practice/facility square footage, service line oversight, coordination of inpatient services, coordination of care across several departments/entities, academic involvement (research initiatives, resident program), special clinical programs, multiple clinical specialties, complex regulatory requirements, management of external partnerships/collaborations.

Patient Care Process:
Establishes/updates work processes and work practices, and performs clinical duties to maintain workflows and adequate staffing levels.
Assist Clinical/Practice Manager with team and individual performance in alignment with Penn Medicine's vision of service excellence.
Clearly define work processes, recognize, and reward individuals for a job well done, and address performance issues immediately.
Recruitment and Retention of staff
Assists Manager with recruitment and retention and assists with adequate onboarding.
Professional Development
Assists with the development of clinical staff in collaboration with the Nursing Professional Development team.
Assures staff are compliant with mandatory trainings.
Regulatory Compliance:
Assists the practice leadership and/or clinical manager with appropriate staffing, compliance (TJC CMS, DOH, OSHA), and continuous quality and safety improvement initiatives.
Maintain a focus on Quality and Safety Priorities including but not limited to the application of a quality improvement framework (FOCUS PDSA), High Reliable Organization principles, and safety event follow-up.
Manage pay practices including accurate time card review and approval, review and manage all overtime utilization
Assists with the implementation of change management strategies within the practice in alignment with department, entity/Penn Medicine objectives
Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Credentials:
RN with state licensure RN (Required)
BLS/ACLS/PALS per specialty (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing And 3+ years clinical experience (Required)
