Summary:

  • The responsibilities of this position include anticipating the needs for assigned service, communicates with OR coordinator, develops operational plans, prioritizes turnovers, and approves OneTray use. Coordinators will act as a resource to the team and will demonstrate and reinforce expected behaviors.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation and identifies those needing repairs, and initiates replacements.

  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.

  • Assists in maintaining accurate databases, trouble shoots error reports, tracks inventory requests, enters inventory issues and facilitates the distribution of supplies.

  • Assists in supporting the PeriOp team when required.

  • Exhibits leadership qualities in problem-solving, setting priorities, and clinical excellence.

  • Demonstrates Teamwork by displaying a cooperative relationship with co-workers by consistently treating others with respect and always using open and honest communication.

Credentials:

  • Certified CPD Technician: Certified Central Sterile Technician or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

  • 2+ years of sterile processing or operating room experience required.

  • 1+ years Experience with Instrument Tracking systems required.
