Schedule:Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (Some after hours required)

Salary/Grade:$118,748.00 per year;Exempt, 16

    About the Director of Philadelphia Social Service Ministries: The Director of Philadelphia Social Service Ministries plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing various programs aimed at addressing the diverse needs of our community. This includes managing our residential programs and spearheading initiatives to combat human trafficking. The position requires a strategic leader adept at program development, supervision of personnel, budget development and management, and someone who possesses a deep commitment to social justice & the mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

Description of Position: In cooperation with the Divisional Secretary for Greater Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Social Service Ministries Director will work within all aspects of social service ministries in Greater Philadelphia. Responsibilities will include the supervision of all residential programs and the anti-human trafficking program; development, expansion, and improvement of social services delivery consistent with Salvation Army policy and applicable regulations; budget planning and implementation; personnel management; recruitment and training of staff; program evaluation; implementation of appropriate program policies; and provide support to the Corps social service programs. It will be necessary for this highly skilled professional to take direction from the Divisional Secretary for Greater Philadelphia and be able to work within a team environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • S.W. degree and at least 7 years administrative experience in a social work setting providing program and financial oversight.

  • Experience with individuals and families who have experienced homelessness.

  • Familiarity with behavioral health services and interventions in residential and non-residential settings.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, and experience with proposal preparation.

  • Firm understanding of human trafficking, and anti-human trafficking programs and interventions.

  • Skilled in all aspects of trauma-informed care and demonstrated ability to create/maintain programs reflecting such values.

  • Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local guidelines relating to subsidized housing for elderly, disabled and homeless populations.

  • Have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
