Reference #: 9295416 Full time 40 hours/week day shift; exempt Operational and clinical oversight of the TJUH Emergency Department, Jefferson Methodist Hospital Emergency Department, and the Wills Eye Emergency Department at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience Accountability for all departmental KPI Partner with Emergency Medicine physician leadership to provide comprehensive, integrated oversight of the department Implement evidence-based standards and nationally recognized best practices in emergency department throughput and patient care Foster an employee culture that prioritizes and promotes the wellness and safety of staff Provides education , guidance, direction and career development for nursing team in alignment with enterprise nursing practices and standards for the Jefferson nurse. Participates in the development, on-going review and modification of hospital and system-wide patient care programs and policies and procedures that describe how the nursing care needs of patient populations are assessed, evaluated and met. Ensure that all nursing services are provided in compliance with all applicable standards and requirements of TJC, the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing, and all other applicable regulatory bodies. Oversees the Magnet designation processes for TJUH.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: A registered nurse, who organizes, manages and provides oversight for the financial, human and other resources for all nursing operations. Creates a collaborative and efficient work environment with a focus on quality standards and the provision of quality patient care. Possesses excellent communication skills, demonstrates strong ability to work with a team, has an in-depth knowledge of the health care industry, and has excellent ability to lead and develop personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the staffing and administration of patient care services throughout the organization. Supervises the caliber of treatment and quality of patient care. Committed to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to recruit and retain quality nursing and patient care personnel influenced by current market trends and environmental factors. Maintains and promotes effective communication within the department and other departments to meet organizational goals. Interacts with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the organization Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University. EDUCATIONAL/ TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Masters Degree in Nursing or Related Field Required Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Strongly Preferred CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION: Pennsylvania Registered Nurse ANCC Certification NE-BC (Preferred) TNCC Certification (Preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Ten years of nursing experience required to include five yearsrsquo; experience of hospital clinical practice, and demonstrated leadership management capabilities Ability to provide effective leadership for the Department of Nursing and Patient Care Division Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masterrsquo;s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
