Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Material Handler/Forklift Operator to work in a manufacturing plant. The role involves moving large industrial rolls to and from shipping, storage, and production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down forklifts and clamp trucks (training available for clamp operation).

  • Unload and load material from production machinery and maneuver around the warehouse.

  • Move machinery within the warehouse.

  • Utilize RF scanning for inventory management.

  • Document tasks using a computer system.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.

  • Use forklifts in the production facility (not a shipping position).

Essential Skills

  • 2 years of forklift operating experience (certification is a plus, clamp truck experience is a significant advantage).

  • 2 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift with a capacity of 3500 lbs.

  • Proficient in using RF Scan guns.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with clamp trucks is preferred.

  • Knowledge of pallet jack operation.

  • Experience in material handling and cycle counting.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing and paper converting environment. The warehouse is cool in the winter and very warm in the summer months, with some areas being dusty. You will be on the forklift about 75% of the day, feeding production lines with product and occasionally handling finished goods in the shipping area. The work involves being around large machinery.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
