The College of Public Health at Temple University is searching for a Grants Administrator to support our growing research portfolio. The College of Public Health is one of the largest colleges of its kind in the country, consisting of the departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Health Services Administration and Policy, Kinesiology, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the School of Social Work. The Office of Research Administration supports the externally and internally sponsored projects of the College by providing pre- and post-award support to PIs and ensuring compliance with Temple and sponsor regulations. This position reports to the Associate Director of Research Administration and is part of a unit supporting the College's post-award administration. We are seeking a team member who embodies our core values of service excellence, integrity, and the development of collaborative partnerships, in support of the innovative research taking place in the College. The Grants Administrator manages a diverse portfolio that includes federal research grants, contracts and community service-oriented foundation grants. The Office provides high-quality support to faculty in a variety of disciplines. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for post-award administration, including but not limited to: project setup, budget projections, human resources, effort management and reporting, project planning, and project closeout. Essential functions: The Grants Administrator will manage an assigned portfolio of externally and internally funded projects and PI-related research accounts, which includes the following functions: coordinate with RAS to ensure accurate grant and subcontract setup in Banner; work with investigators to determine the appropriate personnel in accordance with project budget and expectations; manage purchasing and accounts payable processing, including purchase requisitions, subawards, consultant agreements, travel reimbursement, and vendor invoices; coordinate project hiring/separation; manage student, postdoc and visiting scholar appointments; work with investigators to proactively manage the budget and develop spending projections through the life of the project; review expense reports for accuracy; coordinate financial aspect of progress reports, rebudget requests, sponsor prior approval requests and carryover requests with sponsored projects staff; manage grant closeout process; work closely with departmental staff and university business partners to provide top-tier service to College investigators. The Grants Administrator will perform other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least three years of related grant management/administrative experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
