Required Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses: HS Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification required. Minimum of 2 years Medical Assistant experience. The Lead Medical Assistant serves as a resource to other Medical Assistants within their office by mentoring, training and leading day to day operations. In addition to their Lead duties, they may also perform standard MA functions such as assisting patients and performing various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Serves as resource to other Medical Assistants by training, mentoring and assisting in the direction of daily operations. May assist and have input in performance evaluation process of standard MA#39;s. Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification. Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information. Remains proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems within established scope of practice. Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures, and may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections in the office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facili ate smooth operations of the office.
