DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role involves leading a shift in a PLCB liquor store, where the primary responsibility is to oversee the work of lower-level clerks and ensure the smooth operation of the store during the shift. This includes tasks such as managing customer service, operating the cash register, unloading shipments, stocking shelves, creating displays, and maintaining the cleanliness of the store. Additionally, providing on-the-job training to lower-level employees, assigning and reviewing their work, completing accounting and inventory reports, managing cash, and resolving customer and product-related issues are also part of the role. While routine duties are performed independently, guidance from a manager or assistant manager may be sought for new or unusual circumstances, and the overall performance is reviewed through conferences and reports for adherence to policies and procedures.

The shift lead is expected to be hands-on and actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring that all tasks are carried out efficiently and in accordance with store policies. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to multitask, and a keen attention to detail. The shift lead must also be able to effectively communicate with both customers and lower-level employees, as well as demonstrate a thorough understanding of store procedures and policies. Additionally, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and make decisions under pressure is crucial for success in this role. Overall, the shift lead plays a vital role in maintaining the store's operations and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly Work hours may vary from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday- Saturday. Salary:The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (commonwealth titles); or Six months of retail sales work. You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.
