Confidential Employer Material Handler Specialist/ Warehouse Worker in PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania
Receives, unloads, moves and issues materials in storerooms, at work site, within or near shipyard. Perform clerical duties regarding data entry, reporting, etc. as necessary to support material control and supply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Ensure that all PSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met.
- Read and follow work instructions, procedures and follow oral instructions to ascertain material handling tasks.
- Receive, move, handle, and issue material in storerooms and in production areas as necessary. All handling will be by hand or with material handling equipment.
- Count and record number of units of materials moved, received into or removed from the shipyard.
- Enter receipts of goods, issues, disbursements, etc. into computer system.
- Operate forklift truck and similar light material handling equipment as required.
- Communicate with purchasing, production and other departments regarding deliveries, especially any associated problem.
- Receive material in storerooms and other stock locations as necessary.
- Inspection of material according to obvious damages, shortage, overage, and other obvious discrepancies. Complete necessary reports and forms.
- Assist in delivering material directly to delivery locations.
- Collect and file all receipt tickets and other documents as required.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers according to procedures.
- Maintain well-organized, tidy and clean storage areas.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
