Summary of Objective:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the operations performance (safety, Quality, Deliver, and Cost) of a set value stream in the packaging area. This role will provide leadership, set direction, provide performance management, and coordinate required resources to complete monthly schedules in a cGMP compliant environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures assigned operations comply with all applicable local, corporate, and regulatory safety guidelines.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable corporate and regulatory SOP and cGMP guidelines for their area of responsibility Manages processes ensuring required levels of customer delivery and quality performance.

  • Manages all operational aspects of their area of responsibility including productivity, cost, continuous improvement, and daily business processes

  • Ensures all personnel in their areas of responsibility receive necessary and appropriate training for their job function

  • Ensures management and development of all salaried personnel in their area of responsibility to include necessary hiring, discipline, rewards and recognition

  • Sets and achieves aggressive goals for their areas of responsibility.

  • Effectively manages union relations including hiring, discipline, rewards and recognition, and grievance handling with support from Human Resources.

  • Establish and utilize metrics to drive improvement activity and ensure that decisions are based on facts and measurement trends.

  • Initiate improvement projects to reduce cycle time, increase throughput and minimize changeover losses to increase internal capacity.

  • Align production, mechanical, materials, customer service and quality functions to establish reliable processes that improve safety, quality, schedule and cost performance.

  • Interface with customer in a professional manner to deliver value and to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Develop operations scorecard to communicate with customers.

  • Manage daily staffing and balance production and customer needs to manage costs and create reliable processes.

  • Establish visual management systems and develop team to deploy lean manufacturing methods to improve operational performance.

  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications:.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 5-10 years related experience and/or training.

  • Math Skills Required.

  • Computer Skills Required.

  • Language Skills Required

  • Reasoning Ability Required.

  • Other Required Skills.
