A Brief Overview Under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor performs phlebotomy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The phlebotomist must exhibit the ability to work independently in all inpatient units and outpatient settings, demonstrating the nuanced knowledge required to successfully serve patients in these settings.

What you will do o Performs venipuncture and capillary phlebotomy following established procedures, including: Identifying patient correctly 100% of time Rendering age appropriate care Following all safety and infection control rules Training others in these techniques o Enters or releases information in the appropriate computer system, verifying that all tests are ordered accurately and completely using established procedures; makes inquiries when needed. Ensures that all orders are accounted for before finishing patient, including draws on the daily Pick up lists. Must understand and be able to implement the computer nuances unique to each area Must understand and be capable of implementing the downtime procedure in both inpatient and outpatient settings o Uses problem-solving to address any and all problems that arise and follow through with appropriate action. Responds to work demands with very little or no errors and is able to perform the essential duties assigned independently. o Interacts professionally and cordially with coworkers and colleagues. o Follows all inventory control policies and keeps the laboratory clean, well-stocked and generally in good appearance. o Assists in receiving and rotating supplies, resolving all discrepancies. o Must be flexible in scheduling and cooperative in performing all assigned duties, which includes but not limited to additional pickup runs, performing OGTT, sweat testing and completing all paperwork and TAT information. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

The hours for this position are: Monday-Thursday - 12:00pm - 8:30pm Friday - 8:00am - 4:30pm Saturday (twice per month) - 8:00am - 3:00pm

Education Qualifications Technical Diploma Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training Program Required Technical Diploma Phlebotomy Preferred Experience Qualifications At least one (1) year phlebotomy experience Required Pediatric phlebotomy experience Preferred
