Reference #: 9301586 Job Summary: The Durable Mechanical Circulatory Program Coordinator provides scheduling support for all required testing and procedures for LVAD evaluations and acts as a consistent point of contact to patients. Oversees LVAD device inventory, maintenance and troubleshooting support. Provide administrative support to the LVAD Nurse/NP Coordinators and works collaboratively with office staff, physicians, patients, and their families in a compassionate and tactful manner to ensure continuity of care.

Essential Functions: Coordinates scheduling of diagnostic studies, consultations, and procedures, and obtains any required pre-certifications/prior authorizations for pre/post VAD. Conduct frailty assessments and patient satisfaction/quality of life surveys along the VAD continuum. Perform clerical duties including but not limited to answering phone calls/managing ldquo;in basketsrdquo;, obtaining and scanning patient records, test results, etc. Provides VAD device management support which includes but is not limited to equipment assembly and external setup, assistance with response to equipment related alerts/alarms via phone, and ensuring patient have all required equipment. Provide patient and support equipment education. Manage inventory and ordering of VAD equipment/supplies for post-VAD patients and MCS program. Collaborate with Biomedical Engineering and SPD to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and within designated use window. Manages or assists with program outreach, production of patient education materials, and obtaining/scanning patient records. Maintain program regulatory requirements for Joint Commission for MCS program. Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent completion; Minimum of five (5) years experience in health care. Excellent communication skills Certification through an accredited Medical Assistant Program OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program. Proficient in MS Word/Excel Highly organized Ability to work independently.
