University of Pennsylvania Section Chief of Heart Failure, Transplant, and Mechanical Circulatory Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of leadership and management of faculty and multidisciplinary teams focused on treatment of advance heart failure including drugs, devices, transplant, and investigational therapies. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Americal Board of Internal Medicine certification in Cardiovascular Disease and in Advanced Heart/Failure/Transplantation is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include mentoring and educating cardiovascular and advanced heart failure fellows, medical students and surgical residents, and medical students.

Clinical responsibilities may include serving as an attending on Penn's advanced heart failure, transplant, and circulatory services (inpatients and outpatient).

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading and/pr enabling clinical research in heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support, and advanced heart failure medicine.

The position will be full-time and based primarily at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and will include leadership of 22 faculty, including medical directors of heart transplant, MSC, and other programs. The ideal applicant will be an agile collaborative leader with strengths in faculty recruitment, mentorship, and sponsorship; a focus on high-quality, cutting-edge care; a string desire to bring research endeavors to our heart failure patients; and a focus on business development and program growth. A personal focus on innovation in heart transplant is preferred.
