Senior IP Paralegal – Patent Prosecution / Paralegal Manager (CC PHL)

Compensation: Base $100,000 - $150,000+ DOE, Bonus, Full Benefits

A prestigious boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property patent prosecution, located in Center City, Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior IP Paralegal to join their team. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patent Prosecution Tasks:

  • Oversee the filing of patent applications and responses to office actions with precision and efficiency.

  • Prepare comprehensive compilations of prior art documents essential for patent applications.

  • Ensure timely authorization and payment of fees related to patent prosecution.

  • Maintain meticulous checklists to ensure compliance and readiness for patent grant dates.

  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members on various patent prosecution tasks.

  • Utilize case management software, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Excel for efficient work processes.

  • Handle documentation, draft contracts, and manage intellectual property - patent, patent law, patent application, patents, U.S. Patent, and patent prosecution tasks.

  • Utilize management skills for smooth operations and efficient USPTO filings.

Management Duties:

  • Supervise and lead a team of 7 paralegals and administrative staff, ensuring smooth workflow and productivity.

  • Identify and implement improvements to the workflow and overall patent prosecution processes.

  • Address and resolve issues that arise within the team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

  • Report workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions to senior management.

  • Work closely with attorneys to support their needs and ensure seamless case management.

    Requirements

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Paralegal, with at least 5 years focused specifically on Intellectual Property and Patent Prosecution, USPTO filings, etc.

  • Proven experience in managing a team, demonstrating leadership in resolving complex issues and improving workflow efficiencies.

  • Expertise in patent law, including intellectual property - patent, patent application, patents, U.S. patent, patent prosecution.

  • Experience in briefing, claim administration, and complaint handling.

  • Proficiency in docket management software (DIAMS - Dennemeyer software preferred), MS Projects, Adobe, and Excel.

  • Familiarity with time billing software such as TimeSolve.

  • Strong professionalism and communication skills, adept at working within a team environment.

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy, ensuring effective communication and conflict resolution.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • A collaborative team player who can build strong working relationships with colleagues.

  • Adaptability to work with diverse personalities and maintain a harmonious work environment.

  • Strong organizational and management skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

  • Prior experience as a Senior Paralegal or in a similar role.
