Job Description Summary

Staff Physician in the medical clinic within Student Health and Counseling, part of Wellness at the University of Pennsylvania.

Job Description

Responsibilities :

  • Physicians provide direct primary patient care, urgent care, telemedicine and health education to the student population at the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Candidates must work collaboratively, cooperatively and efficiently with nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians and other clinical staff.

  • Expertise in Adolescent Health, Gynecological and Reproductive Health, Mental and Emotional Health, LGBTQ health and/or eating concerns strongly preferred.

  • Candidates must be willing to work a weekly in office schedule including evenings and Saturdays as well as participate in an on-call schedule. During the academic year this is one (1) evening per week and one (1) Saturday per month.

    Qualifications :

  • MD/DO required.

  • Board certification or board eligible (certification required within the first 3 years of employment) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Family Practice preferable.

  • Previous experience in a primary care setting preferred.

  • Current license to practice in Pennsylvania, DEA certification.

  • Must be eligible for appointment in Department of Medicine or Family Practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Familiarization with electronic health record system preferred.

  • Criminal background check required.

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, exhibit appropriate sensitivity to others, and interface effectively with students, University staff and physicians, and University administrators.
