Canon USA & Affiliates Supply Specialist II in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Overview
The Supply Specialist II will perform tasks related toreceiving, distribution and inventory management within the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities depend on assigned level (I, II) and hospital needs
Works with the Receiving & other Shift Supervisors/Managers, Inventory Control Analysts and Customer Service Specialists with requests for priority services and to report issues
Must be detail, action, and results oriented
Must demonstrate mature judgment in managing responsibilities
Requires specialized expertise in materials distribution and/or logistics processes,methods, and skills related to inventory management
Other duties as assigned
Discuss issues with inventory analysts, storeroom supervisors, floor supervisors and other supply chain and customer leadership, as necessary, and work with these staff to develop solutions to issues
Provide training and guidance for all levels of Supply Specialists, as assigned. Participate in continuous process improvement projects as directed by the Shift Supervisor
Fill in for other Supply Specialists, as necessary
Fill in for Shift Manager, in an emergency basis, when he/she is out on an unplanned absence
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Several years of experience in hospital materials distribution, logistics or inventory management required
Must be a “critical thinker” with an ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
Strong product knowledge a must
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications skills are required for success in this function
Demonstrated good ability to prioritize work, strong organizational skills and initiative to improve processes
Consistently display a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift 40 lbs
Repetitive motion
Reaching, pushing, pulling carts weighing up to 250lbs
Walking, standing for extended periods of time
