Reference #: JR2549 STV currently has openings for Engineering Specialists in the Transportation group in Philadelphia, PA.

We are looking for a Rail Engineering Specialist to join our highly skilled Rail Team in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate should have some previous experience in transportation engineering and a strong interest in rail design and construction projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with passenger systems such as Amtrak, SEPTA, DRPA, and NJ Transit both in the Philadelphia area and across the country. As a Rail Engineering Specialist, you will focus on the design and production of planning and construction bid documents. You will have the opportunity to work under the direction of experienced engineers and learn rail design fundamentals. This position is a hybrid position with a mix of office work with team members, remote work and some field work as required.

Responsibilities Participate in a variety of planning, design, and construction projects. Assist in developing technical design reports, calculations, and memos. Use AutoCAD to design rail alignments, drainage systems, grading, and other guideway elements. Develop construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications. Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders and develop content for these meetings. Perform field inspections. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in civil engineering An engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required. A basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals. Familiarity with civil design drafting software A strong desire to work with and help clients, public stakeholders, and fellow team members. Excellent written and oral communication skills. A desire to work on large multidisciplinary rail projects with fast-paced schedules, which require creative thinking and innovative problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license

Compensation Range:$58,475.00 - $77,966.00
