Wend American Group Training & Development Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Flynn Wendy’s, the third largest Wendy’s franchisee, is looking for an experienced and passionate learning professional to lead a new multifaceted field training manager role.

The Field Training Manager ensures that Flynn Wendy’s training objectives are consistently met by partnering with market operations leaders and human resources to evaluate performance gaps, implement training solutions, assess and refine courses/programs, and drive intended results through follow-up and reporting. The Field Training Manager will oversee training store certification for Flynn Wendy’s, operations manager training, plus all above restaurant leader onboarding for the market. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude to understand the restaurant business and its key audiences, experience designing and developing content, and exceptional ability to deliver training using a variety of learning methods.

Duties/Responsibilities

•Delivers strategic training initiatives that align with Director of Operations market objectives and performance gaps/operational needs.

•Assesses areas of opportunity, communicate findings, and recommend training solutions.

•Collaborates with in-house subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop and launch new training courses/programs.

•Measures and analyzes training effectiveness and provides regular updates and recommendations for enhancements.

•Ensures consistent execution and oversight of operations manager training and area director onboarding.

•In partnership with the Wendy’s company, manages the restaurant certification process ensuring a disciplined and consistent standard focus for our training restaurants.

•Provides continual development for certified training store managers.

•Partners with market leaders and Human Resources to build bench development plans.

•Provides coaching, support, and development to new and existing area directors growing in their role.

•Supports new restaurant opening by partnering with area director to oversee team member training completion.

•Supports market rallies, new product (Limited Time Offers) and new IT systems rollouts.

•Becomes certified to teach Wendy’s company courses and programs as needed.

Skills

•Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills (in-person and virtually); able to lead instruction for a wide range of audiences.

•Strong writing and oral communications skills

•Strong project management and organization skills for planning and executing multiple overlapping projects, schedules, and deadlines.

•Proficient at creating a variety of training resources and job aids for a diverse and remote workforce.

•Proficient at MS Office 365 Suite (expert using PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

•Basic photo and video editing capabilities.

•Basic content management using MS SharePoint preferred.

•Ability to collaborate and partner with multiple stakeholders as a subject matter expert to create buy-in at all levels.

•An adaptive learner and self-starter with the ability to prioritize an ambitious workload.

•Has “grit” and tenacity when troubleshooting familiar and unfamiliar issues through resolution.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years in training and/or operations with supervisory experience

Education

•Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, learning and development or related field

Location & Travel

•In Philadelphia, PA or New Jersey preferred

•Ability to travel between 50-75%
