Actalent Mechanical Estimator And Project Manager in Philomath, Oregon

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer/Estimator

Actalent is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer/Estimator in the mid-valley. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of mechanical components, machines, and labor based on provided drawings from the customer OR from the internal mechanical team based on customer requirements. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to influence and support sales efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and interpret sets of drawings for mechanical components and systems.

  • Price mechanical components and systems based on provided drawings.

  • Estimate labor required for the installation and assembly of mechanical components.

  • Organize estimates in a comprehensive spreadsheet for team review.

  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely estimates.

  • Support long-term sales efforts by combining estimating skills with selling and influencing capabilities.

Top Skills Details:

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.

  • Price / estimate the mechanical components and systems based on the provided drawings.

  • Estimate the labor required for the installation and assembly of mechanical components.

  • Communicate effectively with manager and eventually sales team.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mechanical estimating or a related field within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, systems, and labor estimation.

  • Proficiency in using spreadsheet software for organizing and presenting estimates.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to influence and support sales efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the manufacturing or tool industry.

  • Familiarity with CAD software and mechanical drawings.

  • Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
