About Us

The Equipment Services Department manages a fleet of over 3,000 vehicles. We provide services to our community by maintaining vehicles that journey over 24 million miles a year, covering 9,224 square miles of Maricopa County. Join a team of highly trained professionals who have developed an extensive maintenance and asset replacement program to ensure our vehicles are operating efficiently and safely.

Job Contributions

• Perform general repairs on a variety of light-duty vehicles and equipment in an industrial shop environment

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment

• Inspect and diagnose vehicles

• Maintain service records and prepare reports to input information into the fleet tracking system

• Conduct road tests on vehicles

• Maintain accurate inventory of parts and services

• Ensure shop safety and cleanliness and abide by safety policies; Identify safety hazards and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor

• Consult with supervisor on vehicular problems and performance

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment

• Other job duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly

• Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration

• Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware

• Equipment Services will provide all specialized equipment, software, and hardware. The technician will provide personal mechanic tools

Protective Equipment Required

• All PPE will be provided by Equipment Services
