Supports the development, implementation, and sustainment of the site safety program. Plans, schedules and implements continuous improvement activities (ie: Kaizen events and related LEAN initiatives) on the production floor and in the office. Trains and educates both production and office staff in LEAN principles. Ensure that LEAN practices are sustained throughout the production and office environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive site safety program in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

  • Assist in conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Provide safety training to employees, promote a culture of safety awareness, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance metrics.

  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture in the workplace. Observe established safety regulations and procedures.

  • Fully understand LEAN principles with a solid working knowledge of LEAN tools.

  • Plan, design, and implement LEAN processes in production and office work areas.

  • Train and educate employees in all aspects of LEAN.

  • Ensure that implemented LEAN principles and tools are understood.

  • Ensure that implemented LEAN principles and tools are sustained.

  • Able to analyze processes/workflow and recommend machinery, hand tools, process improvements, and/or procedures that help improve product quality, reduce lead times, reduce manpower requirements etc.

  • Assist CI Manager with leading Kaizen events, lean manufacturing training and tool roll-out. The ability to effectively lead events and training is highly desired.

  • Conform with the organization’s ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements.

  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

    Language Ability

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

    Other Skills

    Ability to use basic hand and machine tools.

    While performing the functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stand, walk, stoop and kneel; use hands, reach with hands and arms; communicate clearly and effectively. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds.

    Education and/or Experience :

    A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College desired, or a minimum of a two year degree (A.A.) with 3 – 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience as deemed appropriate.
