Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.

The ACE Career Services department is seeking a dynamic Event Operations Program Manager to join the fast-paced and high-energy team of individuals collaborating across the university colleges and numerous departments to plan, lead and execute engaging career development opportunities for GCU students while engaging industry. This role requires high-level organizational skills, ability to communicate strongly across multiple stakeholders across diverse levels and proficiency with effectively managing multiple projects at once.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with university departments and leadership including Colleges, Student Affairs, University Advancement, Alumni Relations, GCE Operations, GCE Human Resources, student clubs/activities and more to design and deliver diverse career-related programs, events, and university-wide job fairs. Oversee the clear and consistent communication between appropriate campus departments and program participants, while ensuring that all programming stays within budget parameters. Demonstrate high degree of professionalism to interact with employers, as needed, for event-specifics/logistics communication, promotion, engagement at events. Conduct ongoing assessment and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such events.

  • Strategize, compose, and manage the design and delivery of communications, promotional, and marketing material to students, GCU/GCE stakeholders and employers regarding career-related opportunities utilizing various tools such as GCE marketing department, calendar invitations, department event calendars, system postings/announcements, emails, call campaigns and leadership reports to promote event attendance and participation.

  • Oversee the management of the departmental database technology, ensuring all information is properly built in the system and that all data is finalized and assessed. Possess a comprehensive understanding of department technology and staying abreast of system updates to utilize most appropriate features for program delivery.

  • Participate in University leadership meetings, serve on committees and represent the department at conferences or other events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the goals and objectives of the department and University.

    What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from a regionally accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in leading large-scale projects and initiatives involving diverse stakeholders across varied organizational levels. Experience with career industry event planning and execution preferred.

  • Advanced experience with project management systems, MS Office, and additional technology.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing marketing communications and campaigns to boost participation in programmed events, coupled with strong experience in engagement management involving internal and external stakeholders such as clients, employers, alumni, faculty, and students.

  • Strong client focus and problem-solving approach to working with colleagues.

  • Must work beyond normal business hours which may include evenings, weekends or holidays as needed.

  • Must pass background investigation.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
