Summary

  • High school senior student internship for those enrolled in a formal COE, ICE, or EVIT programs.

  • Must be 17 years of age by Jan 2025 to qualify.

What You'll Do

  • Assist journeyman classifications in cleaning, tool room duties, repairing power generating equipment

  • Perform various maintenance laborer duties

  • The job can include maintenance and repair, 50% of the work is spent outdoors.

  • Participate in the maintenance and repair of a Generating Station, including cleaning parts, running tools, cleaning up work areas, and performing minor repairs under the direction of a Mechanic.

  • Support carpentry tasks, including building and repairing structures, installing fixtures, and ensuring work areas are safe and organized.

  • Assist in skill-trade areas such as mechanics, electrical maintenance, and automotive tasks, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and systems.

  • Provide toolroom assistance, including inventory management, tool distribution, and ensuring tools are in good working condition.

  • Conduct clean-up activities, ensuring work areas are free of debris and hazards.

  • Perform minor repair and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaks, replacing worn parts, and maintaining equipment.

  • Work outdoors approximately 50% of the time, performing tasks in various weather conditions.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in various trade areas.
