Quality Engineer Intern

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs quality engineering/continuous improvement functions in support of total quality management using various tools. Support implementation of continuous quality improvement initiatives. Uses quality information systems to access, collect, analyze, and distribute results.

SCOPE: Works under general supervision of the Product Quality Assurance Engineer . Quality engineering activities cover a variety of products/processes which are controlled by detailed procedures and instructions. Helps maintain a sustainable quality management system. Work can involve several projects and activities simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support product compliance by gathering necessary product information and updating product compliance database.

  • Assist in implementation of systems to improve quality of products and manufacturing processes.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities related to product and processes through effective use of LEAN tools.

  • Support quality alerts process by updating/creating manufacturing work instructions.

  • Support daily Quality related activities as needed.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and maintain safety in the workplace.

  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement projects.

  • Ability to work in a team environment. Including a demonstrated ability to organize and track projects.

  • Conform with the organizations ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Junior or Senior from a four-year college preferably in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering;
