Be part of the Auxiliary Power Unit Project Engineering team, within Honeywell Power Systems, executing system development activities to satisfy all customer requirements. You will be the technical leader and be the primary decision maker for work package cost, schedule, and technical issues. The successful candidate must be able to apply their strong project engineering experience, to serve as the single point of accountability for engineering work scope and execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the overall engineering design work package as the single point of engineering accountability to internal and external customers.

  • Functions as project manager, estimating budget, schedule, and staffing forecast.

  • During execution phase, ensures projects being worked are running within the schedule, budget and staffing commitments.

  • Leads engineering design and/or test teams as the single point of engineering accountability to internal and external customers.

  • Vendor interface for the delivery of hardware and services to support the project

  • Travel to the US and/ or internationally - 10%

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • At least 7 years of demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a dynamic multi-functional environment

WE VALUE

  • Project engineering experience executing aerospace product development

  • A demonstrated track record in managing complex projects

  • Program/control account management skills and/or experience with Earned Value Management

  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
