Job Description:

Commercial Aviation Solutions is looking for an In-Service Program Manager. As a Program Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of products and services throughout their lifecycle (development and in service), with the primary focus on the in-service portion of the product lines. Development responsibilities include leading cross functional program teams through the pursuit, planning and execution phases ensuring performance through effective monitoring/control operating systems and measurements. The Program Manager will ensure customer, supplier and business case objectives are met prior to closing out the program and transitioning it into the In-Service phase of the life cycle. In Service responsibilities include managing delivery to customer contracts, financial objectives for revenue, EBITDA and cash, working cross functional on goal deployment and attainment of defined objectives. Program Managers will need to build and influence cross functional teams to perform through the CAS ethos, which define the mind sets, behaviors and attitudes required to effectively achieve team oriented outcomes for the business. In addition to owning the accountability for program performance, you are responsible for contributing to the overall successful business performance of CAS through collaboration and partnering to share best practices and provide needed support. The general roles and responsibilities for the Program Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

Essential Functions:

  • Build strong cross functional teams, operating systems and program cultures. Ensure that the teams understand the vision, mission and objectives of the program and are inspired to work collaboratively in the pursuit of defined goals. Create an operating system conducive to executing the program collaboratively across multiple functions including sales, business development, engineering (systems, software, hardware and certification), operations, quality, contracts, finance, customer support, and configuration management activities.

  • Cultivate positive customer and supplier relationships to build a team-oriented program cultures and develop new business opportunities. Customer and supplier communications and delivery on our commitments are essential. Build data driven program dashboards to illustrate performance against targets and key trends to be addressed.

  • Bring a passion for and knowledge of program management skills. Essential to this position are development of program strategy that spans customer, supplier, and internal stakeholder requirements, organizing work break down structures to identify scope, integrated master scheduling activities, sequencing, resources and budgets, milestone road mapping, identification of risk/opportunities, functional resource planning including subcontract and contingency resources, program budgeting, development of program control measures across all functional elements and lessons learned mindset.

  • Earned value management and Agile backgrounds are critical to this position. Accountable for ensuring scope, schedule and cost baseline change control as well as delivering on production, quality and cost/profit objectives for assigned products and services.

  • Responsible for ensuring outsource activities and alliance partners are executing per financial and contractual agreements. In addition, responsible for the management of customers, including the management of their expectations, customer satisfaction and scope.

  • Collaboratively partners with functional leaders across Commercial Aviation Solutions to provide enterprise-wide leadership.

  • Establish a process improvement culture within the Program Management team including direct involvement with process improvement idea generation and project execution.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, Technical Management, or similar field

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Project Management tools.

  • Must have the ability to manage multiple complex programs at one time and meet required deadlines.

  • Must have experience leveraging Continuous Improvement methodologies to ensure program performance an improve business effectiveness.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prefer MBA or advanced degree

  • Prefer related program management experience with embedded engineering development products.

  • Prefer experience in avionics industry, in both Military and Commercial Market Segments

  • Prefer PMP certification along with previous experience utilizing earned value metrics
