*Where You Will Work   *

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you will collaborate primarily virtually anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded based on business factors. Occasionally, you may be required to attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration.  In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

Description

Implement and maintain the reliability program for instrumentation and field control networks in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Oversee execution of maintenance activities of instrumentation and robotic systems. Assist operations with assessing efficiency of the process and provide support to maintenance, electrical and process automation teams.

  • Specify and select instruments following company standards and operational requirements.

  • Design the maintenance plan of instruments. Develop spare part strategies and BOM lists

  • Maintain engineering documents including instrument data sheets, P&IDs and PFDs.

  • Provide training and guidance to technicians to perform installation, calibration, troubleshooting, replacement, and integration of instruments in control networks

  • Develop and implement the life cycle program of instruments, communication networks and I/O devices following vendor recommendations and company standards.

  • Support implementation and improvements of control narratives in coordination with operations and process automation to efficiently operate equipment or processes.

  • May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment

  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program, and five (5) years related experience in engineering relevant to Electrical or Instrumentation, OR

  • Master’s degree in appropriate Engineering discipline from an accredited engineering program and three (3) years related experience in engineering relevant to Electrical or Instrumentation

  • Ability to specify and select instrumentation.

  • Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.

  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple communication platforms and protocols including but not limited to Hart, Devicenet, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet-I/P, profibus DP, profinet.

  • Must be knowledgeable of network, PLC or DCS hardware and software, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI).

  • Must be knowledgeable of installation, configuration, calibration and maintenance of process instruments (level, flow, density, weight, pressure, temperature, actuators, PH, metal detection, gas and others)

  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of electronics with an understanding of mechanical and process engineering techniques.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering

  • Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions

  • Skill in managing large/complex engineering projects

  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written

  • Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

  • Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Robotics, Mechatronics, Valve maintenance

  • MSHA, NFPA

  • Office, Data Analysis

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $98,000-$137,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
