What does the position do?
Responsible for the daily enforcement of all established safety programs, regulations, and safe work practices.
Provide instructions to workers on safe work procedures, safety regulations, and emergency plans.
Provide support and administrative assistance on project specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
Investigate incidents promptly to identify underlying causes. Complete necessary documents and report to Safety Director.
Perform regular on-site hazard assessments to identify unsafe work practices and hazards. Provide recommendations to eliminate issues and ensure corrective action is taken.
Conduct routine equipment inspections.
Assist in performing compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety and Safety Policy.
Ensure daily and weekly safety meetings are performed and documented for all site employees and subcontractors.
Provide weekly safety reports to the Safety Director.
Keep up with current knowledge of safety literature, regulations and codes or practice.
Performs other duties as are appropriate and as assigned.
What will top candidates bring to the table?
Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) certification
Minimum of 5 years of construction industry safety experience
At least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years
30-Hour OSHA (Construction or General Industry)
Knowledgeable in EM385-1-1
