Job Summary: Mercury’s Electrical Engineering team in Phoenix has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering manager who thrives in taking on new challenges, influencing and shaping a team and the product roadmap. As the Sr. Manager of Electrical Engineering, you will be managing an engaging team of 12 highly technical electrical engineers, implementing processes and procedures and collaborating to deliver leading edge secure microelectronics that are game-changing and impactful to our nation’s defense. As Sr. Manager, Electrical Engineering for the microelectronics area, your efforts will be connected to the Data Management and Microelectronics businesses. You will specifically lead and mentor engineers responsible for electrical design engineering of our advanced 2D/2.5D/3D packaging solutions. You will proactively identify problems and generate solutions, while collaborating with team members and with leaders from other functions across Mercury to drive execution of innovative solutions while meeting business objectives. As a successful leader, you will develop the trust and respect with the teammates, internal stakeholders, and external partners, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration across all functional groups within the engineering organization. Job Responsibility: * Direct the Electrical Engineering team’s day-to-day work, ensuring successful execution of electrical engineering efforts and responsibilities on programs. * Identify, maintain, and grow technical expertise within the group and provide technical guidance to the Electrical Engineering group on programs. * Execute strategic initiatives and assigns responsibilities with the Electrical Engineering group to achieve business goals set by the business leadership and Annual Operating Plan. * Work with direct reports to identify strengths and development needs and grow their talents and skillsets through cross-trainings, mentorship, and on-going career development discussions. * Attract and retain talents that contribute to the growth and revenue of Mercury. * Hold self and team members accountable for their work output quality and for achieving on-time delivery of project milestones. * Align and motivate team around Mercury purpose, culture, and values, and drive clarity and understanding of project priorities, business goals and processes, roles and responsibilities. * Build open, trusting, and respectful relationships across the engineering teams. * Work closely with the Chief Engineer and Technical Project Managers on achieving successful project executions. * Address issues and challenges directly by making rapid course corrections and driving necessary changes to achieve business objectives. * Establish professional and respectful collaborations with the rest of the functional groups and teams across Mercury. * Manage relationships with current vendors and subcontractors to ensure they remain on budget and provide quality on-time results, and work to identify other vendors and subcontractors as necessary to provide the best solutions for our products. Required Qualifications: * 10+ years of microelectronics product development experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing engineering teams * Experience with process improvements and root cause analysis, such as 5 Whys and 8D * Experience supporting proposal development for DoD contracts * Experience operating in a matrix style organization * BS or MS in relevant field (Electrical Engineering or equivalent) * Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Package design of 3D devices, heterogeneous integration, System in Package (SiP) design and assembly, interposer, or substrate design * Toolset experience using: * ANSYS: HFSS, Electronics Desktop, Siwave, Q3D * Cadence: Virtuoso, SiP, Concept, Orbit IO, Allegro / APD, and Engineering Data Management (EDM) * Mentor Valydate * Keysight ADS * Atlassian Suite (Jama, Jira, Confluence, etc.) * Lab equipment (o-scopes, logic analyzer, power supplies, etc.) Location: * This position is hybrid with the expectation that candidate can work on-site 3 days a week. We enjoy every other Friday off * * This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
