What you'll do

  • Work with revenue accounting leadership team to establish goals, processes and technology initiatives, develops and maintains product/project roadmaps, leads the prioritization process

  • Work on complex legal contract negotiations.

  • Oversee large/complex projects in regards to schedule, scope, and budget

  • Communicate frequently and effectively with revenue accounting leadership team on health of various projects

  • Lead the corporate Payment initiatives and partners with cross functional teams involved to ensure continuous progress

  • Stay up to date with Payment industry regulations and mandates, to help drive solutions by partnering with IT

  • Lead the team to ensure objectives are met on time, within budget, and delivers value to business partners

  • Communicate, assist, and advise team on policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods

  • Work with American Airlines Payment processing partners to ensure solutions we are building are scalable and compliant with the industry requirements

  • Understand payment processing industry standards, internal policies, operational issues, upcoming changes, and communicate the same to stakeholders, including any business requirements and financial impact

  • Strategically and analytically evaluate new products, technology, and payment methods in the industry

  • Lead team of analysts to run, document, and improve our payment operation, processes and procedures

  • Reduce our cost of acceptance, create efficiencies, manage payments budget, and ensure compliance

  • Create operational statistics and dashboards to understand our performance and areas of opportunity

  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve our objectives and support the needs of other teams

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience/training

  • 7+ years of related experience

  • Resource management experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in leading large/complex projects to successful completion

  • Experience in leading a team of 5 or more members

  • Experience in contract negotiations

  • Proven project management and project management methodology experience, including technology delivery methods

  • Payments related experience

  • Experience with airline operations, Sabre, and/or QIK technology

  • Knowledge of mainframe query tools, Project Funding procedures, SOX, and GAAP experience

  • Prior airline experience

  • Experience working in Agile/DevOps team

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Excellent analytical thinking skills

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying sizes

  • Profiency with Microsoft Office Suite
