Summary

Supplier Diversity Program Manager - The Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for the development and execution of APS’s Supplier Diversity strategies as well as the expansion and growth of the Supplier Diversity Program.

What your day would be like:

You are responsible for:

  • Company ambassador for all small diverse initiatives and is responsible for compiling, monitoring, and analyzing program performance and effectiveness.

  • Work directly with our local and regional business community-based organization and certification agencies.

  • Engage with high-level internal and external supplier stakeholders and will represent the organization as a thought leader within the procurement community and beyond, thereby strengthening program expertise and influence in these critical areas.

  • In conjunction with Procurement, the Supplier Diversity Program Manager will ensure appropriate identification, qualification, and inclusion of: existing diverse suppliers and introducing new diverse suppliers for participation in sourcing activities and long-term category business planning.

  • Continuously assess and refine policies and procedures, adapting to changing internal and external requirements, including relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Minimum Requirements

Supplier Diversity Program Manager

  • BS degree in a technical field or Business Administration

  • AND five (5) to seven (7) years of project/program management experience or an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.

  • MBA or master's degree in related discipline is highly desirable.

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is highly desirable.

  • Must possess knowledge of operating processes.

  • Proven ability to interface with all levels of leadership. Must be proficient with PC software, spreadsheets and database applications.

  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, both oral and written communication skills, strong presentation and human relations skills.

Major Accountabilities

1) Develops vision, sets strategic objectives and helps prioritize projects set to move the business forward and improve.

Strong change agent for these visions and objectives.

2) Plans, develops, coordinates and successfully completes projects of varying scopes that support business goals and objectives.

3) Interfaces with and influences members of the community to communicate information and build relationships in order to achieve program goals.

4) Leads cross functional special project teams and other departments to ensure project objectives are achieved.

5) Functions as project leader driving for results and improvement.

6) Coordinates work effectively across multiple groups and management levels in a facilitative style to deliver successful results.

7)Ensures quality and safety during projects execution.

8) Manages a complex portfolio of projects simultaneously, taking responsibility for planning, timelines, deliverables and stakeholder management.

9) Develops and conducts formal presentations.

10) Measures and communicates progress and results.

11) Formulates corrective actions and resolves programmatic problems to stay on plan and schedule.

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.

  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

    *Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
